friend's visit day seven...

The last day...Le Marais

We just stuck close to home on the last day of their trip...

Enjoyed a great Falafel which is a traditional Jewish sandwich and super popular here!

Then we were off for a bit of shopping on Rue des Francs Bourgeois/Rue des Rosiers and then to Place des Vosges for some wine ;-)

The Invader is a street artist who has tagged many buildings in Paris and all over the world

So the garage near our apartment holds fashion shows...they even have a facebook page it you would like to see photos of said fashion shows...haha!

new year's resolutions...

Usually I do not make new year's resolutions because it is so cliché...but what are they really?  GOALS and what is wrong with some new goals for the year?!?  NOTHING!

2011 Goals

• Work on my jewelry making (try some new techniques and medias)
• Lose weight/Exercise (which is on everyone's list haha!)
• Read more
• Study French more (not just classes but on my own and read in French also)
• Speak more French at home with F
• Walk more outdoors (the problem is that M is refusing to sit in his stroller AND to hold hands while walking!)
• Write a Blog Post weekly
• Be less frumpy...I have been in a style rut lately...well since M was born...and more so since we moved to Paris.  Yes in the Fashion Capital of the World I am the most unfashionable person in the city limits!

2011 Goals for M at home with me...I want to be able to give him the following:

• engage M in meaningful/imaginative play
• read more to M
• expose M to beauty (art, music, nature)
• progress M's language skills (and hopefully F and belle mere will do the same in French)

first few days in Le Marais...

So in the first 5 days here in our district I have seen a French Movie being filmed, Fashion Photoshoot, Fashion Show and saw a French Actress.

Not sure what the movie is yet. F recognized the French Actor. I will look him up on IMBD.com to watch the movie...maybe we will be in it haha! They kept telling us to not look at the camera and keep walking haha! I looked pretty rough that day (just off the plane).

Fashion Show was held right next door from our apt (not the temp apt) at the car garage! YES CAR garage weird I know...but I guess they have shows there quite often (photo is from a fashion show held there in the past - it cleans up pretty well!).

Clemence Posey was the French Actress I saw. She lives in Haut Marais (our neighborhood). She was just sitting at a corner cafe with a friend. As we drove by I thought to myself I know that girl. I recently saw the movie In Bruges she played the supporting actress against Colin Farrell. She is also in the Harry Potter movies (she plays Fleur Delacour). F did not recognize her but I did...

Well that is it so far...pretty different that Clearwater, FL (even tho I did recently see Kirstie Alley at the grocery store).
